Carnival Partners with Save the Children for National Volunteer Week 2019
During National Volunteer Week 2019, Carnival Foundation and Carnival’s FUN Team partnered with Save the Children, one of Carnival Corporation’s disaster relief partners, in honor of their Centennial Anniversary. Carnival hosted a three-day event where Miami-based team members volunteered to make, package and ship:
- 500 educational kits with books for children in U.S. communities in need
- 500 emergency disaster relief packs for children who will experience a future natural disaster
- 100 handmade cards with encouraging messages for children who will be affected by a future natural disasters
- 4 painted murals that will be hung in schools who partner with Save the Children
Save the Children is an international non-governmental organization and recognized national leader for services to children in emergencies through emergency relief initiatives and longer-term recovery projects. For 100 years, Save the Children has been giving children in the U.S. and around the world a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm.
