Three Little Trek Over 70 Miles Across Spain

Trekking across Spain.

Three of our very own Carnival Scholarship and Mentoring Program students completed over 70 miles of The Way of St. James, or El Camino De Santiago, across Spain

From June 26 to July 7, 10 Littles from Big Brothers Big Sister of Miami went on a transformative journey across Spain. We are proud that THREE of our very own Carnival Scholarship and Mentoring Program students were part of that amazing journey. Elyam Cruz, Ebonie Knight and Yoseph Mendez were chosen to participate after a competitive application and interview process.

The group completed over 70 miles of The Way of St. James, or El Camino De Santiago. They hiked for a week across Spain to the shrine of the Apostle St. James the Great in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in the northwest region of the country. By retracing the steps of this medieval pilgrimage, our Littles had the opportunity to be exposed to the rich history of Spain and practiced skills such as teamwork, creative thinking and problem solving, along with forming strong friendships with everyone on the trip.
